VILLA Fuji Kawaguchiko AERO

Cruise with Fuji

On the shores of Lake Kawaguchiko, at the foot of Mt. Fuji,
a secluded villa designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, has been born.
Evocative of a graceful ship facing the sacred Mt. Fuji, this one-of-a-kind villa embodies the idea of a “museum to inhabit”.
The project was conceived by Kazuhiro Fujihara (1955-),
an educational reformer descended from the famed Kano painting school of the Edo period,
and architect Kengo Kuma (1954-), his lifelong friend of over thirty years.
“AERO” stands for Artists, Athletes, and Entrepreneurs in Residence One—
a home for those who embody creativity, vision and inspiration.
The property includes sports facilities including outdoor tennis courts and an indoor hall for pickleball.
Bathed in the sacred energy of Mt. Fuji—
a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 100,000 years of history—
AERO offers a borderless experience where you become one with nature itself.
Here, guests are invited to create new forms of art, ideas, and imagination.
There are three rules.
Rule 1: Invitation-only—only holders of the MAKIMONO(scroll) may stay.
Rule 2: The AERO villa will be available for 10 years.
Rule 3: Each person may stay only once in their lifetime.

ART ARCHIVE
Because the greatest masterpiece is not one that hangs on a wall—
it is the memories of your own life, standing before Mt. Fuji,—
in a moment that will never come again.—
For there is no work of art greater than a single human life——
and that is what the Theater Master believes.—
