Susanoo

Ascending the stairway to heaven, surrounded by Koinobori (carp streamers), the viewer is greeted face-to-face by Shigeki Hayashi’s “Susanoo.”
I first encountered Hayashi’s work, “Q.P.“, 20 years ago and was deeply impressed by his installation within a temple. “Susanoo” is a deity in Japanese mythology—a god of pioneering and a protector against calamity. This piece is currently under production and is scheduled for collection/acquisition after spring 2026.
