Tweets in the Forest

Yoshinosuke Kozu is a contemporary Impressionist whose work is devoted to the painting of light. His depictions of water are particularly remarkable, though his renderings of the sky are equally compelling. Above the fireplace, his work Sae-zuri no Mori (Forest of Chirping) rises all the way to the ceiling. We invite guests to light the fireplace, as the flickering flames cause the forest within the artwork to appear to sway—evoking the gentle sounds of creatures chirping within.
